An unprecedented final between two pairs that delighted the Lyon audience with a great padel show, of high technical and tactical level, with suspense until the last point and befitting a first-class organization.<\/p>\n

1\u00ba set<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Clear dominance by the pair formed by the young and talented Martina Calvo (MC) and the experienced Alejandra Salazar (AS), who won 6-3 against Tamara Icardo (TI) and Marina Guinart (MG). Martina took center stage: warmly applauded by the French crowd, she delivered brilliant padel and displayed outstanding physical condition, reaching all the balls with ease and spreading magic across the court. <\/p>\n

2\u00ba set<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Very evenly matched set, with two distinct phases. In the first, MC \/ AS took the initiative until reaching a 2-5 advantage: they achieved a break in the third game, receiving on Guinart’s serve (30-40); in the fourth game they conceded a counter-break on Martina’s serve (40-15), bringing the score to 2-2; immediately afterwards they broke Icardo’s serve again (30-40) and consolidated their advantage with another break in the seventh game, once more on Guinart’s serve (30-40). <\/p>\n

When everything seemed set towards closing the set with Martina’s serve at 2-6, the reaction from IT \/ MG arrived: with determination and experience, they won 4 consecutive games, achieving 2 breaks (in games 8 and 10), to take the lead 6-5. With the serve in her favor, Martina then had to equalize the score, and she did so with authority (40-0), scoring 3 winners (1 AS topspin and 2 parallel volleys from MC herself); the fourth point came after an error by Icardo, caused by MC.<\/p>\n

A surprisingly dominant outcome by Martina Calvo and Alejandra Salazar, who won 1-7, with 2 winners from MC (forehand volley and cross-court smash) and 5 errors from their opponents (3 caused by AS and 2 by MC). Thus, history was made at the Lyon FIP Platinum, with the first victory of 2025 for the pair formed by Martina Calvo (talent, aggressiveness, and determination) and Alejandra Salazar (experience and composure). <\/p>\n
