Spain reigns again in senior padel. The Spanish Women’s National Team was proclaimed champion of the FIP Senior World Cup 2026<\/strong> after defeating the United States 3-0 in the final, held on September 19 in Parque Roca, Buenos Aires. With unprecedented dominance, ‘La Roja’ extended its hegemony and added its fourth consecutive world title, following those achieved in 2018, 2022, and 2024. <\/p>\n

The women’s draw opened the decisive day at 9:00 AM local time (2:00 PM in Spain). The first point for the national team came in the +40<\/strong> category, with Luc\u00eda Sainz<\/strong> and Lorena Alonso<\/strong> as protagonists. Sainz<\/strong>, who in August had already won a gold medal<\/strong> with her national team at the Mediterranean Games<\/strong> \u2013 an event that marked the debut of padel as a medal sport<\/a> \u2013 perfectly complemented Alonso to win by a convincing 6-1<\/strong> and 6-2<\/strong> against Americans E. Petrauskaite and A. Zubori, thus putting Spain ahead in the fight for the title. <\/p>\n

The second point was secured by Bel\u00e9n Castrillo<\/strong> and Mar\u00eda Vaquero<\/strong> in the +60<\/strong> category. Against A. Neugarten and R. Kaczmarczuk, the Spanish pair delivered a perfect match, setting the score at an unquestionable double 6-0<\/strong>, putting Spain just one match away from being crowned world champions. <\/p>\n

The long-awaited final point, which capped an exemplary championship for ‘La Roja’ \u2013 who had previously defeated Argentina 3-1 in the quarterfinals and the Netherlands 3-0 in the semifinals \u2013 came from Eva Gayoso<\/strong> and Mar\u00eda Wakonnig<\/strong> in +55<\/strong>. The duo gave no chances to L. Teer and V. Costabel and sealed the final with a 6-1<\/strong> and 6-3<\/strong> to<\/strong> guarantee the celebration of the entire Spanish delegation<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The podium was completed by the Netherlands<\/strong>, after defeating Belgium 3-1.
