Of the four players who took to the centre court at the<\/span> Movistar Arena <\/b>on <\/span>6 September<\/b> to contest the final of<\/span> the Madrid P1<\/a><\/b>, only<\/span> Bea Gonz\u00e1lez<\/b> <\/a>was defending the title she had won in 2025. However, the number ones,<\/span> Gemma Triay<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>Delfi Brea<\/a>,<\/b> didn\u00b4t give neither the player from M\u00e1laga<\/span> nor Paula Josemar\u00eda<\/a><\/b> a chance and claimed their <\/span>sixth title of the season.<\/span><\/b> <\/p>\n

The match was characterised by ups and downs and several errors from both pairs. After 2 hours and 30 minutes of play, the score stood at<\/span> 6\u20137, 6\u20133 and 6\u20133<\/b> in favour of the Spanish-Argentine pair. This outcome was already foreshadowed in the first two games, when Triay and Brea broke Josemar\u00eda\u2019s serve to take a 2\u20130 lead.<\/span> <\/p>\n

However, Claudio Gilardoni\u2019s pair refused to give in. With the same inspiration that had seen them stage a spectacular comeback from 0\u20135 to 7\u20135 against Fern\u00e1ndez and Calvo in the semi-finals, they responded with two break-backs to level the score. Paulita\u2019s powerful bursts of speed were crucial in enabling the third seeds to stay in the game, force a tie-break and take the first set 7\u20136.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

In the second set, Paulita and Gonz\u00e1lez continued to stand their ground against Triay and Brea, who had to adjust their game and focus to overcome the problems they encountered. The number ones, who were playing in their fifth consecutive final \u2013 having beaten S\u00e1nchez and Ustero 6-2, 6-4 in 1 hour and 16 minutes \u2013 defended their run with determination. They soon took the set 6\u20133<\/span>. The third set followed the same pattern: two breaks paved the way for the Spanish-Argentine pair, who did not let their lead slip and closed out the match 6\u20133.<\/strong><\/span> <\/p>\n

The head-to-head record between the two pairs \u2013 which, prior to the match, stood at five wins and two defeats for Gonz\u00e1lez and Josemar\u00eda \u2013 now stands at eight encounters<\/strong>, with three wins for Triay and Brea,<\/strong> including the last two matches. With this victory, Triay claimed her 58th title, drawing level with Alejandra Salazar <\/strong>as the player with the most trophies <\/strong>on the major professional circuits. \u201cWinning in Spain, in front of our families, is special,\u201d said Gemma<\/strong> at the press conference. \u201cIn the first set we had our ups and downs, but we\u2019re ready to fight.
