Between <strong>13 and 16 August<\/strong>, the iconic <strong>Barker Hangar in Santa Monica<\/strong> hosted four days of high-intensity action featuring 10 teams. At this event, <strong>DC Matr<\/strong>ix were crowned champions in the <strong>women\u2019s category<\/strong>, whilst <strong>Mexico Waves<\/strong> took the title in the <strong>men\u2019s.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<h2><strong>DC Matrix lifts the trophy in the women\u2019s category<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The women\u2019s title was contested between <strong>DC Matrix <\/strong>and <strong>Houston Volts<\/strong>. <strong>Araceli Mart\u00ednez<\/strong> and <strong>Marina Guinart<\/strong> got off to a strong start, taking the first set <strong>6\u20133<\/strong>. However, <strong>Ariadna Ca\u00f1ellas<\/strong> and <strong>Laia Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong> responded with a flawless <strong>6\u20132<\/strong> performance that forced a super tie-break. In the decider, the DC Matrix players kept their nerve at the crucial moments and sealed victory <strong>11\u20139<\/strong>.   <\/p>\n<p>In the battle for bronze, <strong>Marta Talav\u00e1n<\/strong> and <strong>Sof\u00eda Saiz<\/strong> led a comeback that secured victory for the <strong>New York Atlantics <\/strong>over <strong>Carolina Orsi<\/strong> and <strong>Noa C\u00e1novas<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>Florida Goats<\/strong>, winning <strong>4\u20136, 7\u20136<\/strong> and <strong>10\u20137<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Mexico Waves win the men\u2019s title<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The men\u2019s final followed the same script as the women\u2019s. <strong>David Gala<\/strong> and <strong>Maxi Arce <\/strong>started strongly and put <strong>Mexico Waves<\/strong> ahead on the scoreboard. However, <strong>Lu\u00eds Hern\u00e1ndez Quesada<\/strong> and <strong>Juani de Pascual<\/strong> fought back to level the match and give the <strong>Florida Goats <\/strong>the chance to challenge for the title.
