The XX Mediterranean Games Taranto 2026<\/strong><\/span> <\/a>are just around the corner, and padel is preparing to experience a historic moment. For the first time since the inaugural event in 1951, padel will be part of its official program<\/strong> and will award medals at an event that will bring together the best players from the Mediterranean basin. <\/p>\n

The Mediterranean Village will open its doors on August 18, marking the beginning of the training sessions. The opening ceremony of the Games is scheduled for August 21, giving way to the competition that will<\/strong> take place<\/strong> from August 22 to 28<\/strong> at the Salinella Mediterranean Park,<\/strong> in the municipality of Taranto, in the Apulia region of Italy. <\/p>\n

Delegations in Search of the First Medals at Taranto 2026<\/h2>\n

The tournament will feature 3 categories<\/strong>: men’s, women’s, and mixed. Each National Olympic Committee may register a maximum of two men’s pairs, two women’s pairs, and one mixed pair.<\/strong> The latter must consist of players previously called up for the men’s and women’s categories. <\/p>\n

A total of 86 athletes<\/strong> from 18 delegations <\/strong>will participate:<\/p>\n
