The semifinals of the Germany P2 2026 brought changes in the women’s FIP Race ranking and a shift in protagonists compared to the finals of the previous edition. None of the pairs who won the title in 2025 will be present in the decisive match, which ensures the entry of four new names into the history of the Düsseldorf tournament.

The clock showed 3 hours and 7 minutes of the match when Düsseldorf met its first finalists: Claudia Fernández and Martina Calvo had just defeated the second seeds, Bea González and Paula Josemaría, 6-4, 5-7, and 7-6.

Although the first three games suggested a favorable outcome for the world number twos, Pablo Semprún’s team quickly equalized the score, broke their opponents’ serve, and took the first set 6-4. In the second set, the script was reversed, and despite the ups and downs, Claudio Gilardoni’s players managed a break at the right moment to take the set 7-5. In the third and final set, González and Josemaría had two opportunities to close the match, but the young pair of Calvo and Fernández showed composure and secured their place in the fourth final – in the six tournaments they have played together since their partnership at the P1 in Pretoria.

With this defeat, and awaiting the result of the second women’s semifinal, in which Ariana Sánchez and Andrea Ustero will face each other, González and Josemaría risk losing second place in the FIP Race standings.

Final Result: Fernández / Calvo (4) 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 Josemaría / González (2)

The first men’s semifinal of the day featured Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello against Leo Augsburger and Juan Lebrón. In just 1 hour and 5 minutes, the world number ones prevailed 6-2 and 6-3, securing their sixteenth final of the season.

Although in the first set Martín Canali’s team did not grant any opportunities, in the second set Agustín Silingo’s team had up to three break points that they failed to capitalize on. Faced with the threat, Tapia and Coello remained calm; point after point they managed the situation until sealing the match at 6-3.

With this triumph, the ‘Golden Boys’ will seek to win their third consecutive title – since their elimination in the quarterfinals in the P1 of Madrid, at the hands of Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto – and to lift their eleventh trophy of the year.

Final Result: Tapia / Coello (1) 6-2, 6-3 Augsbuger / Lebron (3)

Since the P1 in Madrid, at the beginning of September, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea have not reached a final again. And today was no exception either. The good reading of the game by Ari Sánchez, along with the speed changes imposed by Andrea Ustero, ended up prevailing over the world number ones who, nevertheless, fought until the last second. In 2 hours and 56 minutes, the third seeds claimed the match by 7-5, 3-6, and 7-5.

The match began with a clear dominance by Ángel González’s team, who, despite having a chance to go 5-2, had to postpone closing the set until later, when, in an attempt – this time successful – to break, they secured the set 7-5.

In the second set, it was Seba Nerone’s team that immediately managed to pull ahead on the scoreboard (3-0). Even with the opponents’ attempt to equalize through a break, the number ones regained the lead to secure a 6-3.

In the decisive set, despite the numerous break point opportunities for both pairs, it was the third-seeded team that demonstrated greater efficiency to seal the win 7-5.

With this victory, Sánchez and Ustero will not only have the opportunity to compete for their third consecutive title, but they also move up to second place in the FIP Race following the defeat of the second seeds in the first women’s semifinal of the day.

Final Result: Sánchez / Ustero (3) 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 Triay / Delfi (1)

The last semifinal of the day was a reflection of Rotterdam P2: a clash between the number twos, Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto, and the number fours, Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz, which ended with the victory of the latter by 7-6 and 6-4.

The match started evenly and remained that way until, in the tie-break, Cristian Arias’ pair gained a slight advantage to claim the first set 7-6. In the second set, after a start characterized by mutual breaks, Sanz and Stupa secured a 4-1 lead, which extended to 5-2 with three match points. After failing to convert them, they had to wait until 6-4 to close out the match.

With this victory, Franco and Jon reach their second consecutive final in Premier Padel tournaments since joining forces.
