The Premier Padel circuit continues to expand its boundaries. Following the debut of Pretoria P1, it is now London’s turn to host a tournament in the P1 category. From August 4 to 9, the British city, world-renowned for being the setting of Wimbledon, will, for the first time, become the global capital of padel.

The tournament will be held at the iconic Olympia London, a historic venue located in the Kensington district that, after an ambitious renovation valued at £1.3 million (equivalent to approximately €1.5 million), will host one of its first major professional sporting events.

For the occasion, 4 covered courts manufactured by Mejor Set with Mondo grass surface were installed. According to the official tournament sheet, as it is a P1 category, a total prize money of 479,068 euros will be awarded. Regarding the official ball, the men’s draw will be played with the Wilson Premier Padel, while the women’s draw will use the Wilson Premier Padel S.

A key match before the final stretch of the season

The London P1 corresponds to the 15th tournament of the season and the last event before the summer break. After this event, only the Madrid P1 remains before the Paris Major in September, so the points awarded in London could prove decisive for the final stretch of the 2026 season.

As a P1 category tournament, both in the men’s and women’s draws, the champions will earn 1,000 points; the finalists, 600; the semifinalists, 360; the quarterfinalists, 180; and the pairs that reach the round of 16, 90 points.

The pairs who arrive in Paris with an advantage in the standings will face the decisive phase of the season from a privileged position. On the other hand, those who need to recover positions will have to deal with greater pressure in each match. What happens this week at the Olympia London could shape the course of the battle for the ranking ahead of the Barcelona Finals.

An ideal setting to measure the pairs real level

After several weeks marked by heat, humidity, and altitude, London will offer much more stable playing conditions. The absence of extreme factors, combined with the tournament being held indoors, will favor cleaner points with greater tactical elaboration. In other words, London P1 will allow for a more precise assessment of the true level of each pair.

The rise of Paddle in the United Kingdom

The arrival of Premier Padel coincides with the exponential growth that this sport is experiencing in the United Kingdom. According to the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) 2025 annual report, the number of participants has more than doubled in the past year, rising from 400,000 players in 2024 to 860,000 by the end of 2025.

This increase is also reflected in the infrastructures. At the end of 2025, the country had 1,553 courts and 559 clubs, compared to the 870 courts and 293 clubs recorded during the previous year.

Where to watch the tournament

The competition can be followed for free through Premier Padel’s official YouTube channel up to the round of sixteen. From August 7th until the finals, the broadcast will be handled by Red Bull TV, also available free of charge.
