Peu Araújo and Pedro Graça put the finishing touch on another exceptional week on the international circuit. The Portuguese pair was crowned champion of the FIP Bronze Oeiras after defeating the Spanish-Portuguese duo of Pedro Perry and Pau Miñano with a commanding 6-4, 6-4 in the final held on October 18.
The victory confirms the excellent form that the current best male pair in Portuguese Padel is experiencing. With a solid and competitive performance throughout the week, the national team players claimed their fourth CUPRA FIP Tour title of the season. Oeiras thus joins a list of successes that already included Madeira, Portimão, and Lisbon.
The path to the title included victories over Plinio Ferrão and Henrique Brazão (6-3, 6-0), Zé Alexandre Meireles and Lucas Allemandi (6-3, 6-2), Henrique Barbosa and Marco Remolina (7-6, 6-3) in the quarterfinals, Álvaro López and Hector Vázquez (6-4, 2-6, 7-6) in the semifinals, and finally over Pau Miñano and Pedro Perry (6-4, 6-4) in the final.
After the victory, Peu Araújo expressed his satisfaction with the result and thanked everyone for the support received during the tournament: ‘We are very happy for this fantastic weekend. Thanks to all who have supported us these days. We continue like this, we want more,’ the player stated in the post-match interview.
With this achievement, both players add 40 points to the FIP ranking and from the prize money allocated for the tournament (€8,500, as indicated in the tournament fact sheet) they receive €807.50 each.
